I work with a woman who is always bringing in food for the rest of us to eat. I think she just loves cooking, so she often spends time over the weekend cooking up one dish or another and she brings in the extra leftovers for us to enjoy. She’s quite a good cook too, so what’s not to like? Since she is always so thoughtful, a few of us have decided that it’s time we bought her a thank you gift . We know just what she needs too. She usually brings in her food in containers covered in foil and wrapped between a couple of pot holders to keep in the heat. So we found her the perfect gift, a Pyrex Portable Glass Baking Set.

This handy glass cookware set has a three quart covered Pyrex dish as well as two six cup covered dishes along with hot and cold packs and an insulated nylon carrier. So now she can cook in these glass dishes and use them for food storage too. And when she feels like bringing in leftovers again it will be so easy for her – no more paper bags or aluminum foil needed.

This classic Kaiser Mini Bundform Pan will produce 12 unique individual desserts that are portioned to your guest’s appetite. Similar pans offer unique shapes but excess portion sizes and when serving, the design must be cut and your beautiful presentation is lost. Like all of the La Forme baking pans, it is constructed with commercial-weight steel, which is nearly 3 times thicker than most other bakeware brands. This quality ensures even and gentle heat distribution and gives you consistent browning and baking results. The excellent pan heat conductivity actually results in a 10% shorter baking time compared with other bakeware. And the convenient two-layer interior coating even eliminates the need to flour the pan.

Like all Kaiser bakeware, the pan is oven safe up to 450°F. You’ll find clean-up is easy using just hot water, soap, and soft cloth or sponge. With this pan you can create one dozen 1-cup mini-bund cakes for attractive individual desserts. Many people end up buying 2 pans because these wonderful unique desserts are such a hit with their guests that they never seem to have enough for everyone. You simply can’t go wrong with any of the quality commercial cake pans offered in the Kaiser bakeware line.

Turkey is a good value on a budget, and shouldn’t be just a fond memory. The trick is to serve turkey that is somewhat different than you made over the Holidays. A crock pot turkey recipe that mimics the traditional holiday meal, but doesn’t duplicate it, is just what the family ordered. How about just adding three little ingredients to set this turkey dish apart from just another roast turkey? By adding cranberry sauce, orange juice, and dry onion soup mix, you’ve just bumped the flavor up a whole heap. That tangy, sweet, and savory flavor will have you wondering why you don’t have turkey every week.

Granted, most all the slow cooker recipes you see are somewhat saucy, they don’t all have to be swimming in liquid. You need some kind of moisture to cook properly in a crock pot, but it doesn’t have to turn into soup. Some sauces are more of a glaze or perhaps a gravy. Try recipes that have both; some soups and some glazes. There’s room for both types of crock pot recipes. You’ve got to eat anyway, so why not experiment and have fun.

I do most of the cooking in our home and I love it! I like coming up with new dishes and dinners to experiment with and I really enjoy eating the food with my family. One thing I don’t enjoy though it not having the right pot or pan for the job. On more than one occasion in the past I had to switch my meal plans due to inadequate kitchenware. One of the issues I used to run into was not having a big enough pot to make my homemade soup stock or a large batch of marinara sauce for a big family meal. To make sure that I wouldn’t run into that problem anymore I recently went ahead and purchased a Revere Stainless 8 Quart Stockpot.

It’s a great multi-purpose pot that I can cook anything in. It’s just the right size for making a large batch of my fresh sauce or turkey soup, lobsters or even corn on the cob. The stockpot is made of durable stainless steel with a beautiful shiny finish. The bottom of the pot features an encapsulated aluminum disk between two layers of stainless steel for quick and even cooking. I love my Covered Stockpot and I don’t know how I ever did without it!

We usually spend holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter with my husband’s extended family and the meat of choice is ham. There are always plenty of leftovers and we’re usually sent back home with several bags of various pieces of ham. I try to use them in different dishes from ham sandwiches to soups and stews. My favorite is this lima bean and ham stew. It makes a really good hardy, flavorful dish. It’s really good on a cold fall or winter day and the perfect way to use up leftover ham.

Of course ham is good in quite a few bean recipes. In fact, I end up using little end pieces and any ham bones and cook them right along with any type of dry beans. It adds a lot of flavor to your pot of beans. Try cooking a pot of pinto beans along with some leftover ham or ham bone and serve it with a warm cornbread for a tasty southern style supper. The same goes for putting on a big old pot of bean soup of course. Just try it… you’ll be amazed how much flavor even a little bit of leftover ham adds.

I have a great family baked bean recipe that turns out fantastic whenever I use my stoneware bean pot. The stoneware keeps the beans from cooking too quickly, so the beans stay nice and firm, while absorbing the flavors. Plus, because the pots are stoneware, they don’t impart any tangy metallic flavor to the beans. I also appreciate that they keep the mess to a minimum – I can simply prepare the beans and stick it all in the oven to slowly cook instead of having to keep a constant eye on a stove top pan.

I enjoy my bean pot so much that now I’m planning on buying them for Christmas gifts for my two sisters and my mom so that they can enjoy using the pots as much as I do. I have the white one, but I know my mom would love the traditional terracotta option, while the cobalt color will match my sister’s kitchen decor perfectly. I highly recommend these great pots because they are so convenient. Once I’m done cooking I can just toss it into the fridge or freezer, plus it cleans up easily in the dishwasher. It’s a perfect addition to my cookware collection, along with my stainless steel cookware set and my covered clay baker.
