Start Your Garden Early this Year

Tag: Giftsadmin @ 3:30 PM

For years I would start my seeds in March for the garden in egg cartons and move them to a larger container as I thinned them out. I would shuffle them from place to place to get as much sun as possible and put them outside on warmer days and bring them all inside when the thermometer would dip below 45 degrees. They would be ready to go once the last frost was over but I was already exhausted! Then I discovered the seedling grow kits and heat mat and my life changed for the better.

Now I use the mat and the kits to start the seeds and move them to the Solexx Deluxe Cold Frames that I have out in the garden that act like mini greenhouses and can completely cover the small plants. I still keep them in containers so I can easily plant them when the time is right but it is so much easier than shuffling from inside to outside to the porch to the garage and back into the house. It has worked like a charm for the past two years and I intend to do my starter plants this way for a long time to come.
