I just love votive candles and I’d love to have them everywhere around my home, but between the kids and the dog and my own occasional lapses of forgetfulness it just isn’t a good idea.  As much as I love candles, I’m not thrilled at the prospect of my home being reduced to a smoldering ruin.  For a while I thought I’d feel ok using them outside, until one evening the dog bumped into the table (he’s pretty big) and it knocked one of my lights over and I returned from my brief trip to the kitchen to find the tablecloth on fire. Not pretty.  But with this as a background, I’m certain you can understand my delight at finding these outdoor rechargeable votive candle lights online.

Wow – this great set of 4 votive candles comes complete with the battery powered mini lights, the frosted glass covers, rechargeable batteries and the recharging station. Fifty dollars for the set of four is a good price too when you consider that each charge is good for 10-12 hours of light, you can use them over and over and over and there’s no mess, no smoke and where there’s no smoke – there’s no fire.  I’m so glad someone finally figured out safety matters- even for beautiful little candles.
